Michael Smit is a software developer working for the Hammers Company inc.(http://www.hammers.com) in Greenbelt, Maryland and the founder of the Hammers Design Group. Primarily coding in C/C++/Java, he is one of the core developers on the VirtualSat hard real time satellite simulator and the ITOS satellite command and telemetry ground system.
He has also worked on satellite flight software for the THEMIS satellites now in orbit and in the news
